Gurukula topples Richmond by eight wickets

Richmond College Galle tasted a bitter defeat at the hands of Gurukula College Kelaniya in their first round fixture of the Under 19 Limited overs inter schools cricket tournament yesterday.

Richmond College recorded six straight wins and they lost against Gurukula College Kelaniya by 8 wickets in their seventh match.

Sri Lanka Youth cap Hirun Kapurubandara of St. Joseph’s College Colombo made his second ton. He scored unbeaten 104 runs against Royal College Colombo. Shanikya Deshapriya of Thurstan College Colombo scored unbeaten 119 runs against St. Sebastian’s College Katuneriya. Taleesha Nanayakkara of Thurstan College Colombo claimed 5 wickets for 8 runs against St. Sebastian’s College Katuneriya.

St. Joseph’s College , Mahanama College Colombo, Thurstan College Colombo, De Mazenod College Kandanaand St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa won their matches.
