Get to Know The Reasons to Have Women in Politics

All the organisers representing Sri Lanka Freedom Party, United National Party and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in Hambantota District agree they will work to ensure the victory of the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming Presidential Election.

Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, Mahinda Amaraweera, held discussions with the representatives of 576 Organising committees of these three Parties yesterday (10). This discussion was organised by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Ananda Kularatne.

Commenting on this, Minister Amaraweera stated that he will contribute his utmost to help President Ranil Wickremesinghe win the Hambantota District in this year’s Presidential Election.

In this election, I am more dedicated than in my election. We must win this Presidential Election. All the Organisers who have come here today have never gathered in this way before and worked for the same purpose. We are all a group of people who worked separately for our Party to win. But today we are all united to achieve one goal, one candidate.

Our only aim is to make President Ranil Wickremesinghe win. I don’t need to explain the situation when he took over the country. There was no fertiliser in the country. No fuel, no gas. No milk powder. Electricity cut for 13 hours straight. The country is far away. There was no medicine in hospitals. When an oil bowser came to the petrol shed, peoples lit firecrackers and bowed down to fuel bowsers.

We faced such an era. But President Ranil Wickremesinghe managed this situation very well with his knowledge and experience. That’s why we were able to reach the state in which the country is today after two years.

Therefore, we must work to prevent such an era from coming again. Therefore, I request that all of us commit to give our maximum support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe from Hambantota District in this Presidential Election, the Minister said.
