Hamza Nawsheen does Greenhill School proud

Fifteen year old, Hamza Nawsheen is a Grade Eleven Student of Greenhill International School. Kandy who is a talented Cricketer and Up-and-coming Athlete of the School and he is a right hand Top order Batsman and Right arm off-spinner.

Hamza started his Cricket career in the year 2015 under the Coaching of Nimal Seneviratne, former Dharmaraja College Wicket Keeper Batsman. He was selected to the Under 13 Cricket team of the School as an All-round Cricketer and he scored 40 runs against Kandy Cricket & Athletic Academy team in 2017. In the following year he claimed Four wickets for 35 runs against the same team as a right arm off spinner.

He missed serious cricket practices till the year 2020 due to the epidemic but he showed his class as an all-rounder to claim Three wickets for 29 runs and scored 68 runs in a traditional match in 2021 against Sarasavi Uyana Vidyalaya,Getambe. This year in 2022 in the Under 15 tournament match in the Division three matches he scored 26 runs against Lumbini Royal and claimed Three wickets for 20 runs. Against Mahanama College,Kandy he scored 41 runs and claimed Two wickets for 26 runs.and against Lexicon International School,Kandy he scored 25 runs and claimed three wickets for 20 runs as the Vice Captain of the School Under 15 Cricket team and he helped the School Cricket team to come up to the Second round at the said Tournament.

He was interested in Athletics and the School P.O.G Sanjeewa Bogahawatte gave him the proper instructions and he became the winner in 100 & 200 Metre races at the Inter House Athletic Meet for two consecutive years from 2020 in his age group. Now he is training hard to participate at the Inter Schools District and Provincial Meets.
