Hand over country to the UNP – Range Bandara

UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara yesterday said that the people should be ready to hand over the country to a leader who can understand the suffering of the people.

He said the people will not make a wrong decision again at the next Presidential election.

Range Bandara was addressing a workshop organized by the UNP at the Maikkulama Hall in Chilaw.

He said that the the country will inevitably face more serious economic problems than Afghanistan, if people fail to take the correct decision.

The workshop had been organized by the Education and Training Division of the UNP.

Bandara said the country is facing a severe economic crisis. “There are no proper solutions to any problem.

Whatever the promise given that security of the country will be ensured, now there are issues in kitchens as well. Gas tanks being bought to kitchens are exploding.What is the guarantee that the government is giving that these explosions will cease?, he queried.

He said the government is not able to supply gas. How many persons have lost their lives due to these gas accidents by now? Who will pay compensation to them?. “If someone who knows the suffering of the people is leading the country today, the people will not have to face such disasters,” he said.

At the same time, the country is not benefiting from the protests that are being carried out while getting drenched in heavy rains and the marches that have been going on with shouting and campaigning for us to increase our income to rebuild the country. The ruling of the country should be handed over to a leader who has a proper plan to build the country. Who has the proper qualifications for that?.

People need to realize what leadership can win the love, compassion and trust of the world. At present the only leader who we can submit is Ranil Wickremesinghe. Only he can build the country.
