'Haritha Darshana' and 'Army Amila' remanded till 16th
Haritha Darshana the convenor of the Inter-Higher National Diploma Student Union,and Armi Amila who surrendered to the court in connection with an incident of violation of court orders during a protest held on May 21st, are ordered to be remanded until September 16th.
The order was issued by Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage.
The suspect, Udayakumara Virju, who has been remanded in connection with this incident, was also remanded until that day.
The Fort Police informed the court that the court order reports were handed over to the convener Haritha Darshana on that day and the duty of the police officers was obstructed despite the court order.
The lawyers who represented the suspects asked for bail and the magistrate refused the bail request and ordered them to be remanded in custody.
Mureen Noor has been released on bail in connection with this incident
