Health Sector at a more stable level today – Keheliya

Health Minister Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella says that due to proper management during the challenging times, the Health Sector currently is at a more stable level.

Accordingly, the Minister said in the next two months, it will be possible to alleviate the shortage of medicines and reduce the price of medicines.

Minister Rambukwella was speaking while participating at a public meeting in Tumpane.

The Minister said that the legal measures to reduce the price of medicinal drugs by 16 percent from June 15 are currently underway and in addition to that, the price of medicine will be reviewed every 3 months and steps will be taken to reduce the prices further.

The Minister said that 406 more doctors will be sent for internship training before the 27th to further strengthen the country’s medical service and measures will be taken to recruit 2,200 to the nursing service by next month.
