Heavy Showers Island Wide

The Department of Meteorology warns that rain or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Eastern, Central and Uva provinces and in Mullaitivu and Polonnaruwa districts, especially in the evening or at night.

Occasional showers may also occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and Jaffna and Puttalam districts. The Department of Meteorology further stated that strong winds, between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour, may occur in the Western and Southern coastal areas.

The Department also warned people that caution is necessary and measures should be taken to minimize damages caused by temporary strong winds and thunderstorms.
