Hemali Kotalawala appointed as a Vice President of World Organization of Animal Health
The Director General of the Department of Animal Production and Health, Mrs. Dr. Hemali Kothalawala, has been appointed as the Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau of the World Organization for Animal Health.
She represented Sri Lanka at the World Organization for Animal Health’s Annual General Assembly held in Paris, France recently.
A delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera participated in this conference and the minister also presented a speech at the conference on the work order taken in relation to animal production and health promotion in Sri Lanka.
The Department of Animal Production and Health is a department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation. Dr.Hemali Kotalawala is a graduate in Veterinary Science from the University of Peradeniya. She also received her MSC degree from India’s Veterinary Research Institute and her Ph.D. degree from Obihiro University, Japan.
