Heroin addict cuts himself inside police station

Police said that a suspect who was arrested by a group of officers of the Kurunegala Police Anti-Corruption Division smashed a glass bottle on the ground inside the police station and cut his throat with a piece of broken glass. 

The suspect was arrested by the police Monday (17) during a raid. This 29-year-old suspect was arrested with 1050 milligrams of heroin in the Kurunegala Galwala area.

A senior police officer said that the suspect was handcuffed and taken to the police station and taken to the anti-corruption department. While the officers were taking notes, the suspect had grabbed a glass bottle from a table, hit it on the ground and cut his throat with a piece of the bottle. The police said that steps were taken to immediately admit the suspect to Kurunegala Hospital and his condition is not serious.
