High profile Japanese investors in town to explore investment opportunities

A group of 25 Japanese high profile investors met the Minister of Ports, Navigation and Air Services Nimal Siripala de Silva and other officials of the Ministry yesterday in a bid to explore investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

The Japanese delegation said they were keen to introduce modern technology from Japan for training programs in Sri Lanka’s naval and aviation sectors.

“Through this, the Sri Lankan youth will be able to develop the capabilities of modern technology which in turn will help them to gain foreign employment including Japan.”

The Minister also requested the Japanese counterparts to consider restarting the second stage of the Katunayake International Airport Development soon. De Silva said that the government was ready to offer suitable land for investors to start aviation and marine sectors related to industries near airports and ports.
