Hijacking of SUV points to deeper scam

Padaviya Police have started an investigation regarding the hijacking of a Bolero cab worth Rs. 3.1 million by two persons who came to buy it according to an advertisement published on a website.

On August 23, two people came to inspect the car and agreed to buy it. The owner told the Police that the two got into the vehicle saying that they wanted to check its running condition and fled with it. The Police say that investigations are going on through the mobile phone numbers that the people who hijacked the vehicle called the owner. The fact that the complaint was delayed has led the Police to suspect that there is something more than just the hijacking of the vehicle.
