Athlete, School and Junior John Tarbet and Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association Colours Holder and Throw Ball Player Kurundukarage Hiruni Bhagya Udayangani has brought honour nad glory for her school Taxila Central College, Horana with her deeds on the sports field.

Hiruni was born on 8th May 2003 and admitted to her village school Walakada Primary School in 2009 when Gemunu Mahanama was the Principal When she was in grade four her first attempt was at the Zonal Educational meet and in under Eleven age group she won the Long Jump event and at the Provincial Educational Meet she came third.

Then in 2014 she joined Madya Maha Vidyalaya Badureliya and at their Inter House Meet her house team won the 4 x 100 metre relay and she came first in Long Jump in the under 13 age group and at the Divisional Meet she came third in Long Jump and in the following year at the Zonal Meet she came second in Long Jump and in 2016 she did not get an opportunity to participate in sports.

Then in 2017 her Parents Dhammika Rathna and K.Deepika admitted their daughter to Taxila Central College Horana participating at the Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association Meet in the under 16 Triple Jump she won Colours. Same year participating at the Lanka Lions Sports Club Annual Meet she won a Gold Medal for Long Jump and Silver Medals for 200 and 100 meter events and in the following year in the under 18 category she won a Silver for Long Jump. Same year at the John Tarbet Meet she obtained Colours for under 15 Long Jump.

At the 2019 Provincial Meet she came fourth in the under 18 Triple Jump Event and in the same year she was awarded school Colours for athletics and her Teachers in Charge were Mrs.Anne Geethanjali and Mrs.Devika Madurangani respectively.
