Hotel staff wow music enthusiasts

For the first time in the hotel industry Royal Classic Resort (Pvt) Ltd Natharampotha, Kandy, has started promoting and highlighting their hotel and some social issues by launching music videos. The uniqueness of this is that all these music videos are composed and directed by the hotel staff.

“All the characters in these music videos too are employed in the hotel,” said Royal Classic Resort General Manager, R. Jeyapradhap who was the mentor behind this. “I have worked in the hotel industry for 15 years in UAE and similar ‘New Dimension of marketing’ techniques were used and I thought to take a leaf from them and introduce it to the Sri Lankan hospitality field.”

He said they first launched a Music Video highlighting the COVID-19 virus and how people should take precautions from it. “This was a three minute video and it got around one million viewers to it from all over the world.” In this video “Corona Go Go” we cautioned the public on the dangers of C-19 and how people should be safeguarded from it while still enjoying life in a new normal. “Our motto in this song was ‘There is no vaccine so practice good hygiene. We also promoted the concept of staying positive and don’t be negative in these videos.”

“Our second music video was launched to promote the Hotel’s new year celebrations and we used the catch line ‘ Avurudu with Sudu’ with the main character played by one of our female chefs. This was initiated subsequent to numerous requests we received from guests and viewers from all over the world requesting for a second video.

He said that the cost of production also was minimal due the staff involvement and it was also a good opportunity for them to display their talents in another field.

He said that they are launching a music video on their wedding facilities next and how the guests can benefit from their packages.
