Member of Parliament Samanpriya Herath questioned at a press conference held at the Sri Lanka   Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) headquarters how the JVP, which was unable to develop even co-operatives, could take the country forward.

MP Samanpriya Herath, who further commented said, “At the moment, we as the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna are very successfully conducting the party electoral organisation meetings all over Sri Lanka. Also, the ones who tried to destroy the party by scaring our party members have received a good answer.” “The incident of MPs Nalin Bandara and Wasantha Yapa Bandara in the Parliament shows that the discipline should be very important in the Legislature to fulfill the role of a Member of Parliament.”

“At a time the President and the Cabinet are working to gradually change the difficult situation that the country has fallen into and bring stability, we as a party and as MPs are providing the necessary support and contribution for that.”
