I did not assault State Minister Diana – MP Sanjaya Perera

SJB MP Sujith Sanjay Perera said in Parliament yesterday that he did not assault State Minister Diana Gamage and he only tried to prevent the attack made by MP Gamage on him.

Therefore, he said that he would request the Speaker to conduct an impartial investigation in this regard. The real situation can be checked by checking the CCTV footage.

MP Sujith Sanjaya Perera stated this while presenting his views after the statement made by State Minister Diana Gamage.

MP Diana Gamage has made a statement in my absence that I attacked her. Nothing happened like this.When we were going there, she was scolding MP Rohana Bandara with very obscene words. There I told her not to do such things and go away. But she didn’t listen to that. She tried to hit me. At that time I was only preventing the attack. I urge the Committee to take the CCTV footage in this regard, then Committee members can understand the real situation and how MP Gamage acted.

SJB MP Rohana Bandara said in Parliament yesterday that a gully bowser came and overturned him when he was near the elevator.

“She was scolding and threatening me. Now we have to protect men’s rights from women.She said she will take revenge on us outside Parliament. Now,we have to protect ourselves as men. We have videos. “There was no assault as she complained. When I went to the ground floor of Parliament, I saw she was scolding MP Rohana Bandara with obscene words. I told her not to do it. We request an impartial investigation into this,” he said.
