I will create a presidential Task Force for war heroes –Sajith

After I become President on September 22nd, I will create a presidential Task Force within 48 hours for all the war heroes of the country including the Armed Forces, Police, and Civil Defence Forces who devoted their lives to fighting for the peace of this country, said the Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

He said this addressing the 10th war hero’s conference held in Gampaha.

In addition he said “I always came forward to protect the rights of war heroes. As the first thing under my governance, we will show our gratitude to all the war heroes for devoting their lives during the 30-year war.

This country, which they saved from one form of terrorism, is now under the grip of financial terrorism. Under my leadership, I will recover every penny that the politicians have stolen from the public, and I will spend it for the betterment of the people.

Our party will not have any connections with corrupt politicians. Under our governance, the system of this country will be changed. The system of giving senior positions in the security sector to the friends and family of politicians will be eliminated. Incidents such as shootings in broad daylight and drug smuggling by the underworld will be wiped out. We aim to transition the legal system in this country to an international standard.

We will eliminate corrupt politics and provide generous compensation to officials who uphold law and order. We will ensure the public can breathe freely”.
