IMF team here to review EFF third tranche

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Peter Breuer, Senior Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, will meet President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for discussions.

According to government sources, the next steps of the programme agreed upon by the Sri Lankan government with the International Monetary Fund will be discussed at the meeting.

The IMF team will be in Sri Lanka until November 23. The team will conduct the third review of Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme, which is supported by the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

The EFF programme provides the financial support and policy guidance required to facilitate Sri Lanka’s recovery efforts Sri Lanka has so far agreed and received two tranches of a US$2.9 billion extended credit facility from the International Monetary Fund.
