India edge out Bangladesh in Second Test

India edged out Bangladesh by three wickets on the fifth and final day of the second Test in Mirpur, Dhaka yesterday to complete a 2-0 series whitewash with two sessions to spare.

India chasing a modest victory target of 145 runs collapsed to 74 for seven before Shreyas Iyer (29 n.o) and Player-of-the-Match Ravichandran Ashwin (42 n.o) pulled them back with an unfinished eighth wicket stand of 71 runs.

Earlier, Mehidy Hasan had given Bangladesh hopes of snatching the game with excellent figures of five for 63 while Shakib Al Hassan captured two for 50.
