Sri Lanka’s first International Industry Expo – 2024 exhibition will be held from June 19 to 23 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.
The Industrial Development Board (IDB) of the Ministry of Industry is organizing the International Industry Expo 2024 for the first time as per the instructions of the Minister of Industry and Health Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, with the aim of taking the country’s industrial pride to the world whilst evaluating industrialists.
“The International Industry Expo 2024 will be held from June 19 – 23, 2024 at the BMICH in Colombo and will be presided over by President Ranil Wickramasinghe,” Minister Pathirana said.
Over a thousand international industrial entrepreneurs as well as local large-scale and medium-scale industrialists representing various countries are going to participate in this exhibition.
There are about 1,300 stalls here and it is special to add a separate premise as a green industrial zone to the exhibition for the first time. Also, an experimental academic conference on green industrialisation will be held during this exhibition.
Parallel to the Industry Expo 2024 exhibition a huge vehicle parade and display will be held on June 18 at Galle Face green. In conjunction with the Ceylon Industry Development Board’s Industry Expo 2024, a huge exhibition of vehicles assembled and manufactured in this country will be displayed on June 18 from 10:00 a.m. at the Galle Face grounds.
Arrangements have been made to display more than 200 different types of vehicles assembled and manufactured in this country.
At 4:00 p.m. on that day, these vehicles will arrive in a motorcade from Galle Face ground to Lake House Roundabout, Olcott Mawatha, Technical Junction, Sagaraja Mawatha, Panchikawatta, Maradana, Punchi Borella, Borella to Kanatta Roundabout and entered BMICH premises via Bauddaloka Mawatha, where the Industrial Expo 2024 exhibition is held.
These vehicles can be viewed by the public during the exhibition period and can be purchased and make purchasing orders here. Also, an opportunity has been arranged for test drives of these vehicles.
“The Ministry of Industry and the Ceylon Industrial Development Board are organising this grand exhibition for the first time, with the expectation of increasing the contribution of the country’s industrial enterprises by focusing on an export-oriented production economy,” Chairman of the Ceylon Industrial Development Board Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma said.
