Sri Lanka’s monthly inflation as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) has increased to 2.7% in April 2024.
Food inflation decreased to 3.3% in April 2024 compared to 5.0% in March 2024 said Dept of Census and Statistics.
The Inflation was 2.5% in March 2024. One year ago Sri Lanka’s inflation was at around 70% and it has now gradually come down.
The Central Bank says that the inflation would be maintained below 5% if there are no major global shocks that affect the Sri Lankan economy.
