Inmate dies of meningitis at Galle prison

One of the inmates at the Galle Prison has died due to meningitis (brain fever) while receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Hospital.

Prisons Health Services Director Dr. Hemantha Ranasinghe stated that the 26-year-old prison inmate who was admitted at the Karapitiya Hospital succumbed to meningitis while receiving treatment on Saturday (13).
