INS Khanjar at Trincomalee Port, departs today
The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Khanjar arrived at the Trincomalee Port on a formal visit on Saturday (29) morning. The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.
INS Khanjar is a 91m-long Missile Corvette which is manned by a crew of 151. She is commanded by Commander NVS Phani Kumar.
During the ship’s stay, the crew took part in several training programmes and sporting engagements organized by the Sri Lanka Navy, with a view to promoting cooperation and goodwill between two navies. They are also expected to go on a sightseeing excursion in the country.
The INS Khanjar is scheduled to leave the island today (31). During her departure, the ship is set to engage in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with a Sri Lanka Navy ship, off Trincomalee.
