Interdicted PC trafficking ‘Ice’ arrested

A suspended Police Constable who was engaged in ice drug trafficking using a fake police ID was arrested by the Special Task Force officers and handed over to the Kurunegala Police on November 13.

This Constable was arrested on November 12 near the Doratiyawa Theliyagonna Church.

According to the information received by the officials of the Special Task Force Kurunegala camp, the suspect had a forged Police ID when he was arrested.

The suspect was interdicted on October 11 while he was working at Kohuwala Police Station. A senior Police officer said that he has been suspended for possession of drugs and extortion.

The 22-year-old suspect, a resident of Kurunegala area, was arrested along with 01 gram and 470 milligrams of ice drug and Rs. 8,150 earned from drug trafficking. Police said the suspect was nabbed while travelling on a motorcycle and the suspect was handed over to the Kurunegala Police along with the motorcycle.

Special Task Force Kurunegala camp officers including SI K.D. H.K. Gayanga had conducted this raid.
