ISMM expands global footprint with int’l training programs
In a significant development, the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) has successfully initiated international training projects, marking its expansion into the global market. In the current economic context, ISMM’s initiative aims to bring foreign exchange into Sri Lanka’s economy by providing specialized training in supply chain management to overseas nations.
Recently, ISMM launched a supply chain management training program for Bangladesh, enrolling 30 students. The program, set to commence on today (August 6) via the Zoom platform, represents a new milestone for ISMM as it begins to extend its expertise beyond Sri Lanka’s borders. The driving force behind this expansion, ISMM President Jayantha Gallehewa, (PICTURED)expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We have successfully begun to expand our reach starting with Bangladesh. We are also in discussions with other countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Fiji, and Maldives, etc.
As the National Supply Chain Professional Institute, ISMM is committed to bringing in foreign revenue through these initiatives, thereby contributing to the national economy.” ISMM, the pioneer in supply chain management education in Sri Lanka, has been incorporated by an Act of Parliament and recognized as the National Supply Chain Professional Institute in Sri Lanka. The institute has a rich history of contributing to the development of the country’s supply chain sector.
The Sri Lankan government has acknowledged ISMM’s efforts by declaring the Founding Day of ISMM, October 24 each year as the National Supply Chain Day. This recognition is a testament to ISMM’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the supply chain landscape in Sri Lanka. In collaboration with the Ministry of Industries, ISMM has also introduced the National Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
ISMM takes on the national responsibility of boosting the economy through these initiatives, demonstrating its leadership and dedication to the field. As ISMM continues to expand its educational offerings to Bangladesh and beyond, the institute remains steadfast in its mission to uplift the supply chain sector and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
This global outreach not only enhances the institute’s reputation but also positions Sri Lanka as a hub for high-quality supply chain management education.
