Israeli airline Arkia to operate direct flights between Tel Aviv and Colombo
Israeli airline Arkia for the first time will operate direct flights between Tel Aviv and Colombo, starting from September 21.
The frequency would be once a week and will initially operate charter flights. The local GSA for the airline is Aitkin Spence travels that has coordinated several excursions for these high spending tourists and the inaugural flight will carry 160 passengers.
The opportunity to commence direct flights between the two countries came as a result of a discussion between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the government of Israel.
The representatives of the aviation sector from Israel paid special attention to the security conditions at the Katunayake airport and the surrounding area during the commencement of flight operations.
