Isuri Attanayake the athletic and netball star

In the under 15 age category she secured second place in the Long Jump event and secured third place in the 100 Metres. Hurdles event at the Inter House Sports meet and she won the Long Jump event and became third in the Triple Jump event at the ‘Supannigar Games’ Meet held in Thailand in 2018. She received half colours for Athletics at the School colorus event in 2020 and in the Under sixteen age group her Relay team secured the first place in the 4×400 Relay at the Zonal Meet and she was placed first in Long Jump, second in 100 Metres. Hurdles and third in 200 Metres. race at the Inter House Sports Meet in the ‘Samsom House of the School.

Isuri started Netball in the year 2015 and she was in the under Twelve Netball team in 2015 under the captaincy of Vihara Marasinghe and in 2016 under the captaincy of Tharushi Samaratunge in the under thirteen team and in 2019 Isuri captained the Under fourteen Netball team and in the same year under the captaincy of Dulmini Thilakaratne.

In the year 2021 Isuri was the Captain of the under eighteen Netball team and she received a super Merit award in 2018 and half colours for Netball in the School. In the year 2016 in the Inter school Netball championship they became quarter finalists and became Super eight at the All Island Championship as well as the Netball champs and received Merit awards in the same championship. In 2017 they became Sri Lanka Schools Netball champions and Western Province , and became runners-up in the ‘Eva’ Netball tournament in the same year and the ‘Best 8’ at the ‘Jenny Green Netball Carnival’ in 2017.

They became first runners-up at the Sri Lanka Schools Netball National Championship for the Milo Trophy in the under sixteen team and the winners were Hillwood College,Kandy.

Her intention is to continue her sports Career while doing higher studies and extra curricular activities. She is thankful to the Principal and the teachers-in-charge for the support and encouragement given to her to come to this standard.
