Isuru and Bimansa chess champions

The second Super Fighters Grand prix Chess Championship organized by the Super Fighters Chess Club was held on 14th November 2021 at the Bandaragama super fighters chess academy with the strict health guidelines. The event comprised of six rounds. where only top super fighters chess club players participated in the swiss pairing system.

Based on the above competition Isuru Saranga Pathmasiri won the 1st place of the 2nd Super Fighters Chess Grand Prix 2021. Isuru tied with Kosala Sandeepa Amarathunga with 5 points but finished first on the better tie breaker. CFSL under 16 online youth champions Kosala Sandeepa had to be satisfied with the 2nd place. CFSL under 12 girls online youth champion Yashika Manawadu finished with 4.5 points out of 6 games to end up as the 2nd Runner up.

Meanwhile, grand prix player D.G. Bimansa Jayandi emerged champion of best girls category scoring 3.5 points and Ranul Insitha Kannangara won under 10 Category scoring 3 points out of 6 rounds.

This tournament was launched with the aim of improving the game of chess among the youth of Kalutara district the Super Fighters Chess club.

This event concluded successfully with the participation of CFSL under 16 Online youth Champion Kosala Sandeepa Amarathunga, CSFL under 12 girls youth champion Anujana Hasandi Sendanayake, president of Kalutara District Chess Association Dr Gamini Karunaratne, CFSL Under 16 1st Runner up Piyumi Uthpala Amarathunga, 2nd sri lanka grand prix player D.G. Bimansa Jayandi. Finals Ranking (top 10 players )
