IT student who blackmailed 12 girls arrested

A 19-year-old school student who took nude pictures of several schoolgirls and young women after forming   two WhatsApp groups under the names of two famous models has been arrested by a team of officers from the Computer Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department in Minuwangoda.

This student, who is from a leading school in Minuwangoda, is about to face the Advanced Level examination this year in the Information Technology study stream.

Computer Crime Division officials have found nude photos of 12 schoolgirls and young women on this student’s computer. Officials also found that many other girls’ photos were on his laptop and he had deleted them all.

This student has created a WhatsApp group by collecting the WhatsApp numbers of girls and schoolgirls he knows through two fake WhatsApp accounts created pretending to be the two models.

Meanwhile, he has posted an advertisement saying he is hiring new models. Investigations have revealed that many girls and schoolgirls who are interested in modeling have applied to this WhatsApp group believing that it belongs to two famous modelling artistes.

This student, who is also the president of the school’s media association, also works as a photographer.The Computer Crime Division is trying to recover the deleted photos from the laptop and to take steps to get statements from the girls and young women of whom this student had taken nude photos.
