IUSF Convener, two others detained at Tangalle

The three arrested ‘Aragalaya’ activists, Convener of the Inter-University Student Federation (IUSF), Wasantha Mudalige, Ven.Galvewa Siridhamma Thera and Hashan Gunathilake, are currently being held at the Tangalle detention centre of the Anti-Terrorism and Investigation Division.

Information from the Terrorism and Investigation Division stated that this centre is established in a part of the buildings where the Tangalle prison is located, and only the above three persons are detained there at the moment.

These three have been detained there with the approval of the Defence Ministry to be detained for 90 days under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

The Anti-Terrorism and Investigation Division disclosed information that the three of them were presented to a doctor before being kept there.

A senior officer of the TID said that a next of kin of the above three will have an opportunity to check on their well-being only on one of the five days of the week.
