Jaffna Medical Faculty student arrested for distributing drugs

A group of officers of the Police Special Task Force arrested a student of the Jaffna Medical Faculty who was distributing drugs through courier services in the Kopay area. This student was arrested during a raid in the Kopay Police division based on information received to a group of officers of the Police Special Task Force.

The Special Task Force seized 11 pills and 45 narcotic pills mixed with cannabis which were found in his possession.The Special Task Force stated that these drugs were in his possession to be distributed through courier services.

This student is a third year student of the Jaffna University’s Medicine Faculty and a resident of Rambewa area in Siyambalawewa. The Special Task Force states that he is a 23-year-old person.

The student has been handed over to the Kopay Police Station for further investigation.
