Mizukoshi Hideki, the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, recently expressed his appreciation for the Sri Lankan film “Kandak Sema,” calling it “an attractive and interesting film” that he was “happy to see.”
The Ambassador attended a screening of the film at the PVR Colombo cinema complex, along with First Secretary Mr. Inoue Kenji and Second Secretary Ms Suzuki Anna, at the invitation of director Asoka Athaudahetti.
Second Secretary Mr. Kenji shared his own positive impressions, saying, “It was a beautiful creation that evokes emotions. It was an inspiring experience for me to see my old school friend Kobayashi Ayako (Oshin) acting here.”
Director Athaudahetti and Mr. Saman Athaudahetti, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Foundation and President’s Adviser, also participated in the event. Discussions were held regarding the potential organization of a Japanese film festival in Sri Lanka in the future.
Ambassador Hideki praised the PVR Colombo complex, noting that it was his first visit and that he was impressed by its “international level facilities.”
