Japanese envoy Akio Isomata congratulates SL people on peaceful, democratic Parliamentary Election

Japanese ambassador in Colombo Akio Isomata congratulated Sri Lankan people on peaceful and democratic parliamentary election held on Thursday.

The ambassador commended Sri Lankan people’s active engagement in the democratic process, and extended his warm congratulations to all newly elected members of the parliament.

“History demonstrates that the friendship between Japan and Sri Lanka has grown stronger over the decades. Japan is confident that the election on November 14, along with the Presidential election in September in Sri Lanka mark the beginning of a new chapter in further strengthening our bilateral relationship”, a statement issued by the Japanese embassy in Colombo said Japan looks forward to working closely with the government, newly elected parliamentarians and people of Sri Lanka to achieve peace and prosperity in our countries and in the world, further deepening mutual trust and strengthening the bonds of friendship between our two countries.
