Jayod and Jayandi Open Category chess champions

Sri Sumangala College Panadura’s Jayod Yasindu Rashmika Perera and Central College, Bandaragama’s D.G. Jayandi Bimansa emerged overall Open Category champions in their Super Fighters Chess Trophy All Island Individual Chess Championship – 2023, which was held recently at Horana Sripalee College.

The above competition was organized by the Super Fighters Chess Academy & Club under the guidance of the SFCC Director Madushan Sameera Disanayake, the event was held five rounds Swiss system under the age categories of 7,9,11,13,15 and open events respectively. approximately 400 students participate from all parts of the Island. Madushan Sameera Dissanayake, President Of Kalutara District Chess Association Gamini Karunarathne, President Of Super Fighters Chess Club Chandana Jayakody, Secretary Of Super Fighters Chess Club Mrs K. Nirosha Kumari, Treasure Of Super Fighters Chess Club Aruna Fernando Fide Arbiter Sachila Wickramathilake graced the closing ceremony by presenting certificates, medals and trophies.
