St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10 is a Premier Catholic School in Sri Lanka. With justifiable pride it is recorded that during its existence of 126 years, the College has imparted education in its highest and broadest sense thus producing a galaxy of Josephians who are a pride to our beloved Sri Lanka. Further St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, is well known for its excellence in Sports.

It is heartening to note that the Josephian swimming teams have performed magnificently throughout the years and won the Sri Lanka Schools Championship for the 17th consecutive time, Pentathlon Championship, National Age Group Championships, National Age group relay Championships as well as the Junior Nationals Long Course Championship, in this year.

The Josephian swimmers have proven that “Winning has become a Habit for us.” This is due to their unwavering commitment, razor sharp focus, unrelentness hard work, perseverance, persistence and commitment, dedication, determination and discipline which inspire all of us. Having become the Champions is praiseworthy, but they must continue to keep up the excellent work in the years to come as well.

Rev. Father Ranjith Andradi, the Rector and Principal of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, wishes to pay a glowing tribute to Ruwan Manawadu, the longstanding coach for being the driving force of the success of the Josephian swimmers. His passion, dedication and commitment to the task is unparalleled and he deserves our gratitude.

He also takes this opportunity to sincerely thank the former Prefect of Games, Rev.Fr.Priyan S.Tissera and the present Prefect of Games, Rev. Fr. Samesh Anthony for their active involvement. A big thank also should go to the assistant coaches for their Professional Coaching and guidance, Teacher-In-Charge, Ms.Malka Jayasinghe, for her unstinted support, the Parents and Old Josephians for motivating Josephian swimmers and our swimmers for their sheer hard work. – Maruthai Ravindhiran
