Judge Iddawela withdraws from hearing SLC case

Another Appeal Court Judge yesterday recused himself from hearing the motion filed by the Sports Minister seeking the revocation of the Stay Order issued against Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Interim Committee.

He is the third appellate court judge to withdraw from hearing the case.This was mentioned when the Appeal Court Bench consisting of Judges D.N. Samarakoon and Neil Iddawela was called to consider the petition.

Judge Neil Iddawela said he was withdrawing from the hearing of this petition due to personal reasons. Accordingly, the petition was recalled before the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne to decide on a new panel of judges.

The Court of Appeal President said a Bench consisting of Judges D.N.Samarakoon and Sobitha Rajakaruna will hear the case.

Then the petition was called before one of the members of the Bench, Court of Appeal Judge Sobitha Rajakaruna. The relevant petition was scheduled to be called next Monday.
