JVP will take over country’s religious places of worship – Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa yesterday said it is the JVP policy to bring the country’s religious places of worship under the Government’s fold.

He said that the JVP is a fascist and Marxist force which is an anti religious force.

“Under a JVP Government, no one can own lands as all these lands belong to the Government,” he said.

He said that a JVP Government will take over Commercial lands, farmlands and factories and the people cannot own property privately.

“Everything was taken over by the Government, and then it is said that everything is equal. One of their leaders in Galle says that the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is nothing more than a tree,” Premadasa alleged.

The Opposition Leader said that he has disrespected the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi which is the pinnacle of the Buddhists. “They don’t like us building temples, churches and religious places of worship,” he said.
