JVP’s website states all private properties will be confiscated – Sajith

Opposition and SJB leader Sajith Premadasa said that the JVP’s official website states that all private properties in the country will be confiscated and brought under the government in a future JVP rule. 

Premadasa speaking at an SJB rally in Ratnapura questioned how new businesses or entrepreneurs will come up if such a thing happens.

Meanwhile, Premadasa on Saturday questioned whether the JVP has forgotten that they were a part of the 2004 Government led by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

“Although the JVP led NPP is today trying to portray that they have had no hand in governance of the country during the last 75 years since Independence, they too held eight ministerial and deputy ministerial posts in the Chandrika Bandaranaike Government of 2004. They are now talking like such a thing never happened,” Premadasa said speaking at an SJB rally in Dehiowita.

He said the SJB has done yeomen service to the country even from the Opposition and added the party has proven that it was capable of governing the country and has a capable team to do it.

He also said that the attempts to postpone the LG polls will not be successful and the election will be held as scheduled.
