Kaduwela monk released on bail

Chief Incumbent of the Sri Sumanaramaya in Ihala Bomiriya Ven.Pallegama Sumana Thera was produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court yesterday (8) by the Kaduwela Police was ordered to be released on a personal bail of Rs.100,000.

This monk had been produced before court based on complaints submitted on the prejudice caused to the local residents due to his activities.

Eight villagers were remanded and released on bail on the charge of forcibly entering and assaulting two women and the monk who were staying at the temple last month.

Here the villagers also engaged in a protest demanding that the monk should be arrested.
