“Kalutara District’s Land Settlement office will be a boon to residents”

Residents in the Kalutara district have a golden opportunity to obtain immediate and efficient solutions for their problems in land ownership and land settlements, said Title Settlement Commissioner General Chandima Sigera, at the opening ceremony of a newly set up Land Settlement Kalutara District Office within the Kalutara District Secretariat, recently.

The Land Settlement Provincial Office which was established in a private building at Kalutara North, was very recently shifted to new office at the Kalutara District Secretariat and it was ceremonially opened by the Title Settlement Commissioner General Chandima Sigera with the participation of Kalutara District Secretary G. J. Prasanna Janaka Kumara, Kalutara District Additional Secretaries Thilanka Wettasinghe and S. Thrimanne, Assistant District Secretary Suranga Pradeep and Land Settlement Provincial Assistant Registrar Sameera Rodrigo.

Addressing the gathering Kalutara District Secretary said that it’s much better and fruitful if permanent solutions, instead of temporary ones, for land ownership issues are given to the people, because land ownership issues very strongly affect the minds and lives of the people. Giving permanent and efficient solutions for land settlement issues such as Bim Saviya is apt as those issues can be solved only by these officers in this office, stated Assistant Commissioner for Land Settlements U.T.G. Jayarathna.

Land Settlement Kalutara provincial officials and Senior Survey Superintendent P.M. Suneetha Perera too were present.
