Kapila Silva in dual role for Kandy SC and Trinity

Kapila Silva, a former rugger player is highly respected among the rugby fraternity and has experience in managing Kandy SC players. He is a product of Isipathana College is the Team manager of the Kandy Sports Club for the fourteenth year and for the coming season was also named as the Trinity College team manager and this is the first time that a product of Isipathana College has come in as manager of Trinity College rugby.

He played for Isipathana College senior side from 1995 to 97as a lock forward. Straight form school he joined CH and FC in 1997 and polished his rugby and in the following year joined CR and FC and in the year 2000 when Kandy Sports Club was celebrating their 125th year he joined and played till 2008 and in 2009 became the team manager. He also played for Sri Lanka in the sevens and fifteens. He is also a knowledgeable coach who gave a big hand for Dharmaraja College rugby few years back as coach, with all his experience is sure to give his best as team manager like in the past.

Kapila Silva as a player and coach has given his best for the game, he started his rugby under guidance of Kelum Gunaratne and some of Kapila’s team mates at Kandy SC were Asoka Jayasena, Pradeep Basnayake, Indrajith Bandaranayake, Nalaka Weerakkody, Sajith Mallikarachchi, Kapila Silva has always been a great support on the coaching development improvement for high performance rugby players in Kandy and also as manager. Since the day he took over as manager, there had been various programmes developed and implemented for the benefit of the players
