The AGM of the Central Province Rugby Football Union was held on Saturday at the Old Trinitians Sports Club at 10.00 a.m. Kavinda Jayasena once again came in as president he is a Sri Lanka player and IRB match commissioner a product of Trinity College and the present head coach of Dharmaraja College. He represented his school 1st XV from 1997 to 1999), – He won the prestigious Trinity College Rugby Lion for outstanding performanc He won the best player award in1999 and the excellence award offered by the Old Trinitians Sports Club in the year 2000.

In the year 2000 he first played for Kandy Sports club and then crossed over to Havelock Sports Club and played from 2001-2002 and from 2006 to 2015, captaining the side in 2008 and 2011. In the year 2003 he came back to his home town and played for Kandy SC in 2003. . At national level, played for the Sri Lanka team in the World Cup-qualifying matches held in Kazakhstan. In 2002 he played for the Sri Lanka team at the18th Rugby Asiad held in Bangkok and was also a member of the Lankan team for the Singer Sevens.
