Kazakhstan’s SCAT to commence flights to Sri Lanka from March

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) on Wednesday announced that Kazakhstan’s major carrier SCAT Airlines will start flights to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport from March 5, 2023.

The SCAT Airlines will fly once a week to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport from Almaty in Kazakhstan, the CAASL said. The authority also announced that it has granted approval for charter flights to operate from the Mattala airport. As the country’s second international airport in the southern town of Mattala, it resumed international flight operations in December 2022 after a lapse of two years. “SCAT” Airlines has been the largest air carrier transporting Kazakhstan passengers to the neighboring countries and beyond for many years. “SCAT” Airlines 21 aircraft fleet consists of state-of-the-art planes manufactured in Western countries.
