Kelaniya University’s Medical Faculty donates lab to school
The Faculty of Medicine of the Kelaniya University donated a fully equipped school laboratory to Ihala Nanneriya Vidyalaya, Galgamuwa, on November 11.
This project marks the completion of the second phase of the series of community care programmes organized by the Faculty in conjunction with the Health Camp and Medical Exhibition 2023.
A dilapidated building in the college was completely renovated and equipped with all necessary facilities and was handed over to the students as a fully equipped school laboratory.
In the first phase, Galgamuwa Ihala Nanneriya Vidyalaya received school equipment and a book donation worth nearly Rs. 500,000 and in the third and final phase, a multi-purpose sports hall building is being constructed for the school and it will also be made available to students soon.
The event was graced by Cadre Chair and Professor Madawa Chandratilake, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Cadre Chair and Senior Professor Janaki Hewavisenthi, and Professor Shiromi Perera.
