Killer crocodile captured in Delthara

Wildlife officials succeeded in capturing killer crocodile in the Delthara stream which had devoured a number of cattle and dogs in Delthara, Piliyandala. 

When an inquiry was made about the sudden disappearance of a number of cattle and dogs in the area during the past few days, it was revealed that it was this crocodile which had eaten them.

Based on a notification made to the Wildlife department by area residents, they set up a cage in the stream and managed to capture the crocodile alive. The crocodile was around 13 feet in length.

Wildlife Department’s Attidiya wildlife hospital officers took the crocodile away.

A large crowd had arrived to get a glimpse of this crocodile.
