King Fisher Cricket Academy clinch Nelson Mendis Trophy

King Fisher Cricket Academy batted first and piled up 190 for 5 in 30 overs with Hirun Matheesha unbeaten on 90 runs which consisted of 4 sixes and 7 fours and ably supported by the captain Senuja Wekunagoda who contributed 25 runs and in reply Freedom Cricket Academy were all out for 122 runs with Viran Chamuditha and Pasindu Amarasinghe scoring 22 runs each and Mishika Abewardene bowled best for the winners with 5 wickets for 13 runs.

Hirun Matheesha who collected 265 runs in seven matches with a healthy average of 53.0 including an unbeaten century and a fifty carried away the man of the match award. They are managed and coached by Duminda Gunasekera with Tharindu Amarathunga as his deputy.

In addition their under 11 cricket team were the second runner up of the Inter Academy Cricket Tournament 2021 conducted by Colombo Premier Cricket Foundation of Sri Lanka.
