Kingswood take De Lanerolle Shield
The football games between Kingswood College and Wesley College t ook place recently at Race Course. In the senior game Kingswoodians scored 3 goals to win the Kenneth De Lanerolle Shield, the goals were scored by Inoon Insham, Mohmed Aazy and Amhar Ahmed and the player of the match award was won by Inoon Insham Inthe Junior games – under 10 Wesley won by one goal to nil, under 12 Wesley won five goals to one and won the Nalaka Weerakoddy trophy, Under 14 Kingswood won by one goal to nil and won the Old Kingswoodians SC trophy.
Under 16 Wesley won by one goal to nil and won the Esanka Jayasooriya Memorial Trophy and the Old boys game was won by Kingswood on penalties by six goals to five, the winners were awarded the Dunstan Fernando Memorial Trophy.

A talented sports lover and promoter Dr. Indika Ratnatilake, who is a Dental Surgeon by profession, who has served served as Secretary over the last five years and has been instrumental in upgrading the standards of the club house, came in as the new president of the Old Trinitians Sports Club of Saturday the 10th evening at theAGM held at the club house at Asgiriya, He took over from another good worker Manjula C. Weeraratne and the earlier president Lakmal Tennekoon all three of them with the support of the members gave a big hand to upgrade the club building and to promote indoor and outdoor sports.
This OTSC club was formed due to the efforts of late A.G.G. Perera in 1978. The club is housed in the picturesque environs of Asgiriya with sylvan surroundings reminiscent of an English cricket club. For this club house the man who did the entire spade work was late H.M. Halimdeen who also promoted all sports and the man who helped to build the club was Nahil Wijesuriya.
