‘Kush’ worth Rs. 10 Mn found in parcel from Canada
Sri Lanka Customs officers seized 670 grams of ‘kush’ (cannabis) worth approximately Rs. 10 million which was sent from Canada to a private address in Maharagama.
The Central Mail Exchange received the package about two months ago and on checking the address, it was found to be fake.
The narcotic was found when the parcel was inspected by the Customs officers, the officers of the Narcotics Bureau and the officers of the Central Mail Exchange.
This drug was sent to Sri Lanka in cans along with dog food and medicine and the check was made on the correctness of the address as no one came to collect the parcel.
