Lakshmi Dias Bandaranaike laid to rest

Lakshmi Dias Bandaranaike, the wife of the late Minister Felix Dias Bandaranaike, passed away on Saturday.

She met her husband Felix Dias Bandaranaike at the Faculty of Law in Peradeniya. They got married in 1953. Later both got qualified as barristers in the United Kingdom and after coming to Sri Lanka, Felix Dias Bandaranaike was appointed as Justice, Agriculture and Finance Minister and became a powerful minister in Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike’s Government.

The last rites of Lakshmi Dias Bandaranaike was conducted yesterday (27) at the Anglican section of the Colombo Public Cemetery.
