Landslide warning issued

The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued Level 1 (yellow) landslide warning for parts of Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Ratnapura districts. They are :

1. Kandy District – Pasbage Korale, Ganga Ihala Korale, Doluwa, Delthota, Udapalatha and Udunuwara Divisional Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas

2. Nuwara-Eliya District – Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas.

3. Ratnapura District – Kuruwita and Ratnapura Divisional Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas.

NBRO has warned that should residents see development of cracks, ground subsidence, slanting of trees, cracks on floors built on slopes, sudden appearance of springs or muddy water should alert the authorities.
