Sri Lanka will group with Jamaica, South Africa and Wales at the forthcoming Netball World Cup which is to be held in South Africa next year. 16 teams divided to four groups will compete this major event as World Netball Federation has announced the groupings yesterday. Sri Lanka team led by Gayanjali Amarawansa have to prepare more to go for the World Cup.
The Netball Federation of Sri Lanka headed by Victoria Lakshmi plans to appoint a new head coach to focus on next World Cup.
Sri Lanka is 16th at the latest world Netball ranking while Singapore and Malaysia are par below positions compare to Sri Lanka.
The current Netball senior head coach Haysinth Wijesinghe’ s contract period is going to finish on December 31st and Netball General Council has decided not to extend her contract.
At the moment there is no senior National pool and Federation is planning to form National pool after appointing the National Selection Committee.

Pool A– Australia,Tonga , Zimbabwe, Fiji
Pool B– England,Malawi, Scotland,Barbados
Pool C – Jamaica, South Africa, Wales, Sri Lanka
Pool D – New Zealand, Uganda, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore
